Therapeutic Approach
The therapeutic approach applied by Dora Papadopoulou is based on psychodynamic / psychoanalytic therapy.
It is a model of psychotherapy based on psychoanalytic theory and clinical practice, with a central principle that human behavior is determined by unconscious motivations, desires, and conflicts.
The goal of therapy is to help the client become aware of their internal processes, to recognize unconscious thoughts and feelings, and to understand how these affect their daily lives.
Through this process, relief from mental tension, better emotional regulation, and improvement of mental functioning are achieved.
The main tools of psychodynamic/psychoanalytic therapy include:
• the analysis of transference and countertransference,
• the understanding of defense mechanisms,
• free association and interpretation,
• dream analysis, and
• work through the therapeutic relationship.
Dora Papadopoulou's approach is characterized by deep empathy, clinical precision, and dedication to creating a safe therapeutic framework, where each individual can safely explore their mental processes and find paths to mental stability and relief.
