The Healing Fairy Tale
Psychotherapy workshop for adults
What is it
The Therapeutic Fairytale is a form of group psychotherapy that utilizes fairy tales and symbolism to approach symptoms such as anxiety, emotional exhaustion, guilt, fear, as well as repetitive patterns in relationships and daily functioning.
Each meeting works on a carefully selected fairy tale and guided discussion in a safe context.
What does it help
• Reduction of internal tension and symptoms of anxiety
• Stabilization of mood and better self-regulation
• Clearer choices in relationships/boundaries (less repetition of the same patterns)
• Relief and a sense of security through the group process
How does it work
Through the fairy tale, participants safely see what they have difficulty saying in words.
The symbolism of the characters and the plot helps to identify the emotional roots of the difficulties and to begin therapeutic treatment without pressure.
Indicative fairy tales – thematic
• The path of colors – Adaptation & acceptance of change
• The chest with golden secrets – Hidden needs, desires
